Elegua

Part of “Caravan” a group art exhibition in response to the migrant caravan crisis of 2019 on the US/Mexico boarder.

This piece was created in collaboration with Dougie Padilla, David Monson, and La Niña Rivera. It is an altarpiece offering for the Cuban Santaria diety known as Elegua. Elegua is associated with the crossroads and is thought to be the holder of keys/opportunities. In this installation La Niña Rivera sings a Santeria blessing for Migrants partaking on a difficult journey.
